I agree! I didn't see anywhere in G last September that I would want to take kids 12 and under like the OP says he has.

G and H both can be very nasty on the top. Of course both of my boys have been to the top on multiple scouting trips and hunting trips with me with nothing but what we put on out our backs. The first time for each was 9 and a whopping 7 years old! Of course they are wrestlers and tougher than most? . I guess it depends on what kind of a hunt you want and how physically and more important mentally tough your boys are at such a young age. Also in H there are a lot of areas that you can get around with a Pickup and go on short walks and get to real nice deer country!

My 10 and 8 year old spend all summer with me hiking through region H. I have taken both of them on several hunts both deer and elk in H. The only thing they complain about is the cold. Don't underestimate your kids. G or H is a fine place to take a kid hunting with you. Here is a pic of both of them helping to pack out bull last year. 3 miles up Cliff Ck. in H.

Just a thought, have you thought about putting in for a unit or zone that both you and your 12 year old could have tags? I took my 31 year old on a combo deer antelope hunt in WY when he was 12. He still talks about it. Just 2 cents.
