Bedded vs. feeding deer

I was wondering what your thoughts are on spot and stalk approaches on deer that are feeding vs. deer that are bedded. Which do you feel would give the best advantage and why?

Thanks,

Location of both situations. If the deer is bedded and the thermals are right go put it to sleep. They are not going to move on you in this situation. Feeding I use the spot and stalk mixed with an ambush type situation. I will guess a route and get on it and wait it out. It just depends if I can sit still long enough.

I'd prefer feeding over bedded. A buck's bed is chosen because is offers the best location for viewing, hearing, and smelling. When they're up moving around, they usually have their nose up a does butt or head in the scrub.

Bedded.. these deer always seem to be far less alert and, especially out here in NV, when you are in the archery hunt you typically find more bachelor groups of bucks and not as many alert does. so if you can get to a respectable shooting distance with that buck laying down then take the shot.

Interesting thoughts here.
I will take any good chance at them, but prefer bedded deer.
Feeding you have the noise of the chewing in their head, and their head can be in the brush, somewhat blinding them. Some say they concentrate on eating more, thus making it easier to get close. But I have to disagree, I believe they are much more aware when they are up and about. And they are far more spooky in the open.
The down side to a feeding deer is they move, its hard to move in on a moving target.

The plus to bedded is they are less alert, and stationary. I can spend 8 hours on a buck and know he will be very close to where he was when I put him to bed. I just have to stay unseen, unheard, and cross my fingers the wind works in my favor.
