Thanks fro your thoughts. I'm 300km north in Picton and did not feel the quake. It looks like my travel plans will change though, I will probably ride the ferry across to the North Island and fly home from Wellington or Auckland. They don't need me to clutter up the place in Cchurch even if the airport reopens by Saturday.
