I also assume these are lion kills, not much of a chance for poachers to shoot these bucks unless they hike 3 or 4 miles from the main road.This is a wintering area that draws some of the big boys out of the wilderness ,so the cats probably are pretty successfull just due to the numbers of deer concentrated in the area. Ive found does and yearlings on the way in to this area that have met thier demise as well.Alot of coyotes roam these hills as well and the carcass get scattered over time so who really knows unless they see them in the act.... or find a fresh kill site (havent found one yet)
Im heading back to this sweet spot this weekend so hopefully Ill find some good fresh sheds this time and if a skull is recovered it will be a sweet bonus like the last trip...
