Has anyone got their book yet? I heard the ship date was suppose to be April 15th.

Waiting for mine, I'm not holding my breath though, it was supposed to be a winter 2006 release and its practically May. Hopefully soon though, I've got some long trips coming up and need something to read on the plane.

Didn't get mine yet either, hoping it comes pretty soon, but who knows - they were supposed to ship on the 15th, so if they did, some people should have theirs already. usually when I order from Eastmans, it only takes 3-4 days to get here.

I have not received mine yet either, but it will be worth the wait as Cameron is the real deal and the book should be beyond excellent.

I would like to know where I can order the book from.
I went on Eastmans web site to order it and it said that they were backordered and I couldn't do anything. Does anyone know where else I can order it from.

Thanks,

Jeff

RE: Backcountry Bowhunting

Publication release date is now May 15th. I've got it pre-ordered. Eastmans.com, or CRHpublishing.com are the only places to order it. get your copy reserved, and you will be one of the first to get it...

RE: Backcountry Bowhunting

Can't believe another month delay, those guys need to promote stuff a little less if they are so far off actually being able to be received.

RE: Backcountry Bowhunting

Knockmdead, call eastmans and try ordering it that way.

RE: Backcountry Bowhunting

Thanks for the imput guys. I will try calling Eastmans

RE: Backcountry Bowhunting

The link for ordering is back on the Eastman's website, but I am waiting for to order it from Amazon.

Go to Eastman's and look at the shipping prices they are trying to chrage you. LOL!, didn't know Eastman was a Jewish name.

$50.00 to overnight a freaking book?

RE: Backcountry Bowhunting

At Eastman's site is says that they shipped May 15th. If that is true mine should be showing up in another week or so.

RE: Backcountry Bowhunting

I received my book in today?s mail. It's singed by Cameron.

RE: Backcountry Bowhunting

Got my copy in on Saturday. I'm only about 70 pages deep and enjoying it. Hey, Keener - how'd you get you get a signed copy?

RE: Backcountry Bowhunting

It appears that he singed the third page with the printed quote ?No challenge is too great for the motivated do it yourself public land bow hunter. Dream bigger. Achieve more.? The page also has a picture of him leading mule. Perhaps the signature is printed. I am not 100% sure it's singed. It looks legit to me. Check out your copy. Dose it appear to be singed or printed?
I am at section 2 also. I stopped reading after I read ?The Intangibles? to do a quick workout. I have plenty of time to read later. It's a good read so far.

RE: Backcountry Bowhunting

Got mine on Saturday, very good read, not too impressed with the dvd but the book is great.

RE: Backcountry Bowhunting

I don't want to be overly critical but the DVD sucks! How about a little continuity. They start showing a hunt and some footage of the animals and then cut to the next hunt without a harvest or explaination like we didn't tag out ect. worse yet some of the teaser footage shows them drawing on an animal and then the hunt never shows a shot , harvest or anything. I think they are saving the hunts and money shots for The tv series on the outdoor channel. The only footage it shows a shot was a repeat of a mule deer hunt with South Cox. I don't know who put this together or edited it but it was a huge disapointment. The book so far seems okay but many Times I feel I'm rereading articles Cameron has already written in the Magazine, I know I have seen many of the photos in the Magazine before. I haven't read the Mule Deer and Elk sections yet, sure hope there is some fresh reading there. I guess if I'm honest about it, I expected more from Cameron and Eastmans.

RE: Backcountry Bowhunting

It's called "leveraging". Yes there is some repeat info in there but I feel there is enough "new" stuff to make it worthwhile. At least now it is all in one place and easy to find.

RE: Backcountry Bowhunting

I ordered a copy just to check it out.

Hope it is worth the money,

Archer

RE: Backcountry Bowhunting

The second half of the book is better than the first half. It is still worth getting at 24.99. I was a little too harsh in my earlier post. Sorry.

RE: Backcountry Bowhunting

Anybody not get theirs yet? I pre-ordered back in January. Haven't recieved mine yet. Just wondering if I'm alone and need to make a phone call.

RE: Backcountry Bowhunting

RE: Backcountry Bowhunting

LAST EDITED ON Jun-13-06 AT 10:03PM (MST)[p]You (candy ass) won't make it. ;)

I'm really liking this book. I'm not a subscriber to the Eastman's so most of this stuff I'm reading for the first time.
It is a good read although I have found some inconsistancies.

For example. one one page he discusses the importance of cooling the meat and using a "packer" to get the meat out without spoilage. He states that he has never lost any meat this way since using a packer. Then he goes on and even says that he has never lost any meat prior to that either. Then about 3 pages later he admits to losing about 50 pound of meat on the back of a bull that he left on top of a ridge over night in freezing temps.

Unless I miss read it.

I don't care wether he has or not. It does happen occasionally even with best intentions. Just tell the truth.
