It was a fun three days. The weather was pretty good but got real cold for the trip out. We skied a whole bunch of good powder and I figured out I need to be in better shape and pack lighter.

Heading up there, The Peter Estin hut is behind the peak with the blowing snow

"Hut" is a little bit of a misnomer, It's pretty nice. solar lights, wood heat, and a frozen outhouse with a Pine marten hiding near it.

Last run at sunset. It was getting cold and windy

Inside the Hut. We melted lots of water on the wood burners

A little chilly for the ski down. 4.5 hours up, 1 hour down

fun was had by all.

Fred,

My rapidly failing POS computer wouldn't download
your photo's, but dang glad to hear you're back, and
had a grand time.

Bet Sparkey was glad to see ya.

BeanMan,

While I admire your enthusiasm, you are nuts! I got cold just looking at those photos. Maybe next time something from Hawaii, catching some sun, looking at bikinis? Better luck next trip!;-)

Sorry ktc,

No Bikini pics but a whole bunch of Mai Tai's got me pretty warmed up on Oahu last year. Enough to even smoke a stogy which is pretty uncommon for me.

Fred,

I let it simmer overnight like a pot of Chili.
Made about that much noise as such.

They finally downloaded.

GREAT stuff, my friend. I dig your attitude.

Please come to TX and visit me.

I'll cook you a steak that'll make'ya slap Bobcat.

Thanks Sir,

Larry

Ha! In post #7 BeanMan, you look a little pie-eyed!

This cold weather stuff is a downer. Glad to see you can make some fun in it! I just hibernate any more and that ain't healthy.

I am headed to the Caribbean soon. I cannot wait. Yes sir! Fun in the sun and very little clothing!

Fred,

I'm sorry, been cutting wood at Shive.

Fred, Shive is North of Laredo, but it's South of
Amarillo. It's kinda inbetween.

Acutally, Shive is between Hamilton and Evant, but off to
the west, if you will.

Fred, Shive is where De Bus is.

And Fred, De Bus is not only a place.....

De Bus is a State Of Mind.......if you will...

Fred, you'd like Shive. And you'd like De Bus.

And they'd both like you ........and Sparky.

You're both welcome. Fletchy Wayne say's heck yea.
He's laying here in my lap as I type this.

He's the one that checks for mispelled words :)

Told you it would be cold and a lot of work! Looks like a great trip. Great cardio!

Larry - that dog must have went to UT - your spelling has greatly improved! Hee hee hee. BTW - I know where Shive is!

Stay warm - it's about as cold as it gets here!

ktc,

Pie eyed would have been an understatement for that night. Note the sagging upper body (completely relaxed) and the wide stance which helps to prevent sudden toppling over syndrome. It hurt for two days afterwards. Have fun in the Carib, get some dark glasses and try to keep your tongue out of the sand.

Larry,

It took me almost a half hour to locate Shive, I had to resort to google earth to find it. Looks like a place with lots of traffic lights and a big rush hour. It looks to be a long ass drive.

Fred and Roy,

Either one of you are more than welcome
to join me at Shive anytime you want.

I wouldn't take for either one of ya.

By the way Roy, Fletchy Wayne got most of his
learning at Tarelton State University in Stephenville.

You know, Texas A&M is a branch of Tarleton.

Fletchy Wayne thinks Coach Fran got a bad deal.
