Back from SA and moz trip in Sept.

This trip was a short 4 hunt day trip to SA with a Ph friend who went out on his own a few years ago. I asked he find me a place we could hunt some of the color variants I wanted. I know this it not for everyone and also know they are normally on smaller areas. I knew going in what the hunt was and was very happy with the out come. My son and I hunt for black ,saddleback and white flank impala. Then I would also try for a kings wildbeest. Only thing that went wrong was the 60" kudu that showed up at my son area that was not planned. He passed not sure I wuuld be ok with him taking it since kudu was on are Moz hunt list. So the big kudu is still there with some big common impala and waterbuck they saw. The place we hunted has more kings wildebeest they I ever thought would be possible as well as Royal wildbeest which is all white. We will go back for another kings one day and take one with the nice gold side. Plus I still need a saddleback impala..Here are some pictures of the first part of hunt. well the 2nd part of our hunt started with a good bunch of luck. I had picked mokore safaris years ago but with the cost of moz never thought I would get to go with them. As luck would have it they donated a hunt to a small sci chapter. To say I got lucky would be a big understatement. I won the auction bid for there hunt and got a 10 day sable and plains game hunt for a hunter and observer. It covered the day fees and for an extra 500 my son could hunt with me. The hunt would be in coutda 9 which they have run and brought back from near no animals to almost to many. They have a full time anti poaching team of 16 guys. THis place was wild africa for sure with elephant , lions and buff all around as you hunted. To say the animals are another kind of spooky is an understatement. We hunted with doug duckworth and he was amazing as a ph. I had some bad luck hitting a sable bull way to high. After we watched the video I was amazed how far the sable had dropped as the arrow got there. Never saw a sable drop that much but it changed were my arrow hit by 12inch or more. After 1 1/2 days of tracking him we never saw him again. He never stopped walking or running the whole time. We had some bad luck in the tall grass on reedbuck with arrows just getting deflected and go low rightbefore hitting home. We did but do spot stalk on oribis with the bow . I took a great bushbuck almost 18 inch but had to switch to a gun as that was the only way to get him. We took some nice impala and saw so many more. My son took a great warthog and we did a last day kudu the last evening.. Cant say enough good things about the whole hunt. If my pocket book ever lets me do Moz again it will be back here for sure.
