**NOTE** I also posted this in the Mule deer section

I'm kicking around some Ideas for hunting next Fall and winter. I wanted to find out about how the folks that hunted Arizona Region 36 A and B fared so far.

I have a friend who has moved back to the family ranch, and has some grazing allotments in those regions. He is not a hunter but has agreed to point me in the right direction if I come down to hunt. Here's a few Questions:

Is this area known more for Mule Deer or Coues?

How much has increased Homeland Security affected the hunting quality?

Is the Late Season Bow Hunt Over the Counter Tags? how late in the year can you purchase tags?

How about the Early season rifle hunt? OTC?

Would you recommend this unit over say, private land in 29 and 30?

How roaded is this Area?

Is The Buenos aires Area Tag a Draw? Is it a Good tag?

Thanks in advance, I'm trying to map out my $$$$ for applying This year in California, Utah, Wyoming, Nevada, and as a possible back up Arizona.

Those areas are known for Couse deer, but muleys can be found.

The immigration issues affect hunting. If you camp you must secure everything. Illegals will take food and water. Many times illegals will walk through prime hunting areas (and your camp) pushing game around. Most illegals are harmless (only wanting to enter the country) but there are drug runners and coyotes (human traffickers) that have nothing to lose.

OTC bow tags can purchased anytime there are three seasons Jan, Aug, and DEC. The Jan season is the best. Keep in mind only one deer per year (not per weapon, total, kill one in bow season no rifle and vise verse).

no rifle hunts are over the counter, but the draw odds are very good for the earlier hunts in Southern AZ.

The Buenos Aires tag is a draw for rifle. Bow is OTC. The late rifle tag (Dec) is very good for Couse.

I like to camp, therefore do not like those units due to the illegals. I chose units north of Tucson.

Visit cousewhitetail.com for Arizona specific hunting info, Couse deer rule in southren AZ.

If you need more info PM me, I would be glad to answer any questions.
