LAST EDITED ON Sep-17-05 AT 10:51PM (MST)[p]Has anyone hunted 20A during the tail end of the summer archery season? I've got some comp time coming to me this week so I figured I'd head out to try to fill my tag. I've scouted in this area before during December with little sucess. My buddy and I did find a couple of tanks that seemed to be the crossroads for the area. Every kind of track you can imagine. We scouted this spot for several days but never seemd to get into the deer. I figure I'll grab my spotting scope and find a nice hilltop to sit on and see what happens. Any help or ideas would be great.

Which part of 20A are you hunting? I have hunted this unit many times and can say glassing is your best bet. It is big country and can wear you out pretty quick. There hasn't been very many deer in there the past couple of years but with the good rains it may be better this year. They are in there and are running around during the rut so keep your eyes in the binos.

Thanks

Well we were kind of on the southeastern region of the unit west of Antelope Creek Rd. That's where we found a few tanks that looked (at the time) good. We were coming down (heading west) off the higher flat ground down into the base of the mountains(Bradshaws I think). I'm thinking I need to work a little further north towards Lynx lake, maybe get closer to the pines. With little time left in this segment of the season I'm pretty much scouting for the December hunt.
