Area 6 Early Deer

Will be heading up to Area 6 for Early Deer in October. Plan to stay the 2 weeks. Going to walk back in to a couple tough access areas to look around in a few weeks, primarily 61 and 62. Does anyone have any recent hunting info over the past couple of years with the fires and maybe what they saw or found in regards to deer?

Surprised no one else has replied. Hunted that area last year during the same time frame you have. All of our old hunting areas pretty much burnt up. Sad, it will take decades to look like it used to. Good news, we had 4 tags, filled 3. We were hunting in the Maggie Summit area. Top of Pennsylvania Hill, some areas burnt, some not. It should be good this year, when we were there, we actually got our bucks out of the areas that were burnt and black. We did see two really quality bucks before season opened, but never saw them once season opened. "Hunting" Took two 4X4's, one 3X3, not big but on the last day, take what you git. Good Luck. My favorite area, do not forget to taking fishing poles, Wildhorse at that time of year is outstanding.

Thank you for the info, hopefully there will be some new growth and feed for the deer, glad you had good hunt and found a few. I'll update what we see.

don't overlook the burn areas. I saw several bucks in or adjacent to the burn in 62 last year during my elk hunt
