Area 30-1 elk

Was wondering if anyone can comment on what this area holds for grizzly bears. Been thinking about applying there this year.

There have been no documented (i.e., confirmed by our staff) records of grizzlies in 30-1 (or anywhere else in Salmon Region for that matter). It's certainly possible an occassional bear moves through the area, as it is a natural corridor between Greater Yellowstone and the northern Rockies. But so far, every track or photo that's been reported to us has clearly been a black bear.
