I have a planned a trip to go to africa with 10 friends from the local archery shop. I was wondering if anyone has went and if anyone had any luck and were they went? We are going in southern africa.
Im going for a few wart hogs and some impalas and maybe a zebra. Do you guys think that it is worth the money to go there and back or should i just go to colorado or something and try for a big bull elk?
I would like any info you guys have on Africa because im looking at 7,000 dollers or so to go there and back. Thanks for all the help

Do a search for DeerKings hunt in africa.

Personaly there's alot of things here in N. America that I would like to hunt before I went to Africa but that's just me.You could do a nice DIY elk hunt for less than $2,000. But your the only one who can answer your question.

Do what turns you on.
For me, the animals you listed just aint worth that kind of coin.
Maybe some of the more glamorous African animals.
I ike the big cats, buffalo, & the spiral horned antelope, but for $7k, I think I'd be looking at a Mexican Muley hunt.

7K!!! Damn I hunt ALOT and I dont think I spend that much in 5 years of hunting, even with out of state point fees....
For 7K you could lease a piece of land with some other buddies for years and hunt quality Mule deer and Elk...Again its your choice, but like previously mentioned I would rather spend my money in America.

GO! $7K is cheap for Africa. You have your whole life to hunt here in the US. You never know when foreign regulations might rule out, or price out Africa. No where else can you have the ability to hunt such a variety of animals, be treated so well, and have the vast cultural experience you can have in Africa. To me it is a no brainer. I'm going in 2008 and I'm figuring it will cost quite a bit more than $7 grand.

really is is only 4200 dollers but im going to take about an extra 3k to try to get a deal on a cheeta or something like that something big water buffalo dont know whatever looks good to me but the rifle hunt is only 3200 and the bow is 4200 for a 12 day hunt with all you can eat everyday and a 2500 square foot room all to your self. My friend went and he said he was joking and said he wanted to be carried out to his blind and the wanted to but he didnt let them. But i think its a great bargin to go because like big pig said you can hunt america all your life. Plus you dont know what is going to happen in life it comes at you so quickly and if you can get the chance to go then go right?

I have been to South Africa a few times bowhunting. It is awesome with the amount of game, number of shots, etc. As I am in the process of opening my own outfit with a South African freind in Namibia, I could tell you what you may want to look out for. Many of the high fenced (all private hunting reserves in So. Africa are high fenced) are smaller properties, less than 5K acres. Some PH's (professional hunters), use concessions which are not high fenced. I have a plethora of information if you want to email me at [email protected].

I'm going to South Africa in 2007 for about $5,000 per person. I plan on going for kudu and gemsbuck. The wife wants to come with me and she isn't going to hunt so I can kill her game while she does her shopping or whatever she wants to do. I figure you don't know whats going to happen tomarrow so live for today of you may regret it. If you got the cash, do it, especially if you've got a big group going. It should be a great time. I'd be interested to hear the outcome.

That sounds pretty cheap, does that include airfaire? What about getting horns and capes back to the states? What does that cost? I personally would like to hunt the blesbok species, hartebeast, and gazelles or impallas. Very beautiful animals.

It does include airfare....the guy was running a special at a SCI hunting expo. It is normally around $7,000. They have all the animales you mentioned above and then some. I'm not sure what the cost is for shipping the trophy back to the states but it isn't included in the price.

to ship the animals back are very expensive if you want to get them mounted they will do it for you over there and then ship them mounted but that is way expensive. my friend mark had all his sent back for 1000 dollers but he had taken 16 animals and he had all the heads bleached or european mount. but im thinking all together take 7k and if i want to do something else then i can do it.

I hunted south africa in 02 and had a complete blast. I took both a bow and a rifle. I would do it again in a heartbeat !!! We hunted with bobby hansen safaris. He has a website and runs a great operation if your interested. Very easy to get along with and an honest person. Gary

I would love to hunt Africa.
