what would you say would be the best dates for archery cow elk in unit 7 ?

In 2012 I hunted 9/16 through the end of Sept. They bugled the entire season. BUT it was better around the 16th-18th, dark of the moon, and the last 3-4 days, weather.

As the nights got longer (more moon) they bedded earlier, until the weather came in.

I only hunted public one day though. Public that wasn't landlocked anyways.
