How many of you put in for hunts not really putting much thought into over-lapping dates with hunts in other states for the fact that if you get drawn for both, you can always return a tag? Since my son will be hunting with me for now on (just turned 12) I think I may have to take this approach in order to try to open more doors for us. Thoughts?

Not me!
I always worry about over-lapping season dates but apply anyway.
I've had to worry about it a couple times.

desert sheep/california bighorn 2000
mtn goat/desert sheep 2009
mtn goat/dall sheep 2012
but they all worked out well.

desert sheep/bighorn sheep/moose/elk/deer 2013... I hope!

good luck to all,
Zeke

Oh, and I've never had a family member turn a tag back. We always work things out to where we can use them all.

This year will be a great one. I have a PMA (positive mental attitude)..... or is it wishful thinking? ha

I always consider potential overlaps but still do so almost every year. If I have to eat a tag that means I must have drawn a great one, so worth the risk.

I usually have a better chance of running into Elvis while riding a Unicorn with the hunts I apply for.

I drew 6 huts one year and I was so diesel poor it wasn't funny.
By the last one, my butt was dragging about 4 ft behind me.
I'm more careful now. LOL NOT.
