My electric dryer isn't working properly. Are there any appliance repairmen on this site?

I'll tell you who it was . . . it was that D@MN Sasquatch!

AyA's pretty handy around a wrench. What's it doing or not doing?

Un-Plug Power,DUH!

You might have to pull the back cover off, some have a smaller access plate to get to the Element!

Usually just a couple wires to unplug & a few screws to take out and you can take it out!

Newer Appliances are like Newer Vehicles, the Newer, the more PIA they are to work on!

When I pull it apart and check the element everything looks good. I dont have a volt meter to check the other relays or anything, but it looks like there are a couple other things that could be out

Did you check the Element for Continuity with a Test meter?

When I was looking at the heating element I forgot to unplug it and it did bite me, so it does have power to the front part of it

Ya,there can be other things wrong!

Check the Element for Continuity, looking at it ain't gonna tell you rather it's good or not!

If there is Power To the Heating Element when it's suppose to be heating I'd say the Element is Faulty!

Was it the Wires that plug on to the Element that bit you?

Lmao, I will have to "borrow" a test meter from work tomorrow, too bad its raining or I would just hang my clothes outside to dry

I think so, I was touching one of the plugs for it and my arm hit the side of the dryer, thats when it bit. So I am thinking its going to be where the problem is

An Element ain't too hard to change, but for kawboys sake,un plug the Power!:D

..any good plumber worth his weight in salt knows that you should always ground your body real good to a water pipe before reaching in and grabbing 240v lines.

Borrowed a volt meter from the neighbor,
checked continuity in element, No dice. I hate to admit it but B-bop was right.

dont let that go to your head! lol..

looks like I am going to buy a $65 element tomorrow.

how old is the dryer?

one thing to rememeber, you get your bullchit warranty from a store you bought it from, but even if your store warranty is out, aton of your parts have a longer life warranty.
if you call an appliance repair man, preferable one NOT associated with a store, you get a part free and the company pays for the service call.

Our dryer did the same thing a few years ago. It would run, but not heat. The problem was the breaker at the main panel in the house. One leg of the breaker was tripped and the dryer was now running on 110 instead of 220. Bought a new breaker and the dryer worked fine.
