Ky. Derby winner could be disqualified; track bans Baffert

Medina Spirit's victory in the Kentucky Derby is in serious jeopardy because of a failed postrace drug test, one that led Churchill Downs to suspend Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert on Sunday in the latest scandal to plague the sport.

Bets will not be changed. Lucky for some, not so much for others. Baffert seems to have an affinity for cheating. Turns out lots of dirty tests for his horses.

I think horse racing is worse than NASCAR and always has been. They are just now starting to have rules and enforce them.
And no, they don't take the money back but the disqualified horse doesn't get to keep the prize money.

When the winner got disqualified in 2019 for a foul they didn't pay off until after the Stewards announced the winner about 30 minutes after the end of the race.

I have been to the Derby once. It's expensive but a good bucket list item to do. I didn't bet on any horses but I drank a lot of alcohol.
