ive always wanted to find some sheds, but it seems that everywhere i go there is always been people already there! any advise??

Keep trying, keep going out and the one thing that has always helped me the most is when in doubt keep hiking. Alot of people forget the best way to find sheds is simply put in hours and hours looking. I find alot of boot tracks every year yet i still find alot of sheds, even sheds within 20 feet of boot tracks. If possible go earlier next year to these areas as long as the winter range or area permits it. don't be a deer chaser... and good luck. Find the horn Goose!

where you from? keep lookin man there are still a bunch out there, do more spring scouting find the animals. Get some topo maps and do a lot of studying! If you find a spot that looks good try it you never know whats in there till you lay down the boot leather. one good thing to do is find an area you wanna hit and make a lot of small trips in a day and remember they cant pick them all up! i have found a lot of sheds by foot prints and wheeler tracks you just need to go further and work harder than everyone else!!!! I hope this helps, there aint to many people gonna tell you where to go.

hey thanks, im from central utah provo area but i love just getting out im happy even if i dont find any i have just always wanted to find some and it looks a heck of alot easier than it is! but thanks guys im just goin to have to keep tryin!

Keep at it man. My first few years sheddin I didn't find much because I was always too late. Best thing to is pre-season scouting. Watch a herd (preferably 1 you have to hike to watch) and stick with them. You have a much better chance focusing on a small area in my opinion than spreading yourself thin watching a bunch of areas and like others said, nobody ever finds them all. Walk the routes that would not be your first choice because chance are they were someone elses first choice too. I my self just picked up a sweet deadhead buck with 2 cheaters in Parley's Canyon last weekend within 15 yards of someones boot prints, so like I said, they never get them all :)

Post up a pic! I have a friend who lost a deer up that way. Might be the same deer!?

If you don't want to publicly, email it to me please. [email protected]

LAST EDITED ON Apr-14-11 AT 04:22PM (MST)[p]@ anybull- lol your boot tracks and the rest of the wasatch front :) I wasn't expecting anything and haven't hiked over there for a few years, but I had some time to kill in slc, so I figured might as well go for a hike and lucked out

@ bugleboy - I sent you an email :)

LAST EDITED ON Apr-14-11 AT 08:41PM (MST)[p]lol alright, just to show bbdawg what can get missed (like I said, boot tracks not more than 15 yards away from this buck) and to show anybull what he may have missed as well, here's my deadhead. When I picked it up, I also looked across the draw about 70 yards away and could see a brown 2 point horn as well :)

AH! That kills me hahahaha Heck of a find! I cover a lot of ground up their too, congrats

i have watched this buck for two years, (95% sure its the same deer) had him at 110 yards this previous year. I just never could close the deal, looks like somebody or something else did. Great Find!!!

Lol I knew the area got pounded, so I felt pretty lucky to stumble onto it.

Where are you from roadshed? I'll let ya check it out if you think you'll be able to tell for sure or not it was the buck you were chasing? As you can see by the pic, the yotes had been all over him judging by the missing cartilage and off his nose and the fact that all his legs/leg bones were gone. All that was there was the spinal column and head.
