hey guys ive never really been big on shed hunting, but id like to at least get out two or three times this year and give it a try..

are there any basic rules or tips of shed hunting that you can share with me?

do animals typically just shed wherever? or am i trying to get close to a bedding area or something like that

are you guys doing a lot of glassing to help you search a mountain side? or is it usually you pretty much have to step on them (obviously how thick the brush is has an effect)

I know a general core area right now where about 8 bucks hang out, but from what I can tell none of them have shed yet

just looking for any general pointers that might help me in my quest, thanks

Find ya a big sage brush flat that holds good numbers of deer thru out the winter
After the deer head back up the mountain a little in early spring(that seams to be the hard part for every one)Go back and zig-zag thru out the area
Pay close attention to fence lines where they would be jumping and
south facing hill sides just inside the tree line where the would of been bedding for the day
