LAST EDITED ON Feb-20-09 AT 06:34PM (MST)[p]I normally don't hunt sheds and when I do, I don't normally sell them. This year isn't normal. What are elk and muley sheds bringing this year? mtmuley I just read Rocky Dog's post. Looks grim.

It is grim. Too bad the antler prices are sliding with the economy. Last I heard brown deer are going for about $6/lb. & brown elk are going for about $5/lb. Best thing to do is hang on to your sheds until the price goes up. Not worth getting rid of any sheds at that price.
Bring your sheds to the Antlerfest this June. Prices can get a little competitive there. Or, you can at least bring 'em by to show them off!!

I'd guess a lot of people who have a pile of sheds sitting in the corner are thinking they need the cash and should sell now. My nephew said that very thing to me yesterday. That's got to bring the prices down.

A local buyer here where I live quoted a buddy $4.00 a pound for brown elk antlers. If I find any, I'm keeping them. mtmuley

That what I'm hearing too 4 bucks a pound, heck you would be better off keeping them.
