I have a question, are those real quakey trees, and if so did you put anything on them to keep them from decaying like they do in the wild, or will they stay that way forever.

Thanks.

They look good to.

Lamps look great! Here is some constructive feedback. I would recommend lashing the lamp shades with leather. I wasn't able to see what kind of shade it was so it may or may not make it look that much better. What I do is make a pattern with paper. I measure 1/2" from bottom and then every inch apart on my pattern. Then I mark it on the shade and hole punch it. I do this on the top and bottom. Then you can get leather string at a craft store and lash it. Some guys will even take the tip of an antler and put a female threaded adapter into it and use that as the top part of the shade. I haven't done that yet but it looks good.
Just a thought. Let me know when you start doing antler chandeliers. I need some ideas on those.

they are kiln dried birch
I'm not done with them yet I'm going to stencil in a deer on the shade and deer tracks on the base.
i sealed the wood top and bottom.
they will not last forever but will probably out last me.
i was going to use more than one antler but after looking them over i decided it looks better and shows off the antler better with just one.
i wanted to use my biggest antlers but that would take up to much space.
then i looked at what antlers sat best on the log.
i also considered what color the antlers were to the bark then to each other.
i wanted to use my bigger elk antlers too but they take up to much space i had to consider where they would sit and build them to fit the table and the floor space for the standing lamp.
i put a antler tip on my elk antler lamp but i think I'll put the button off a antler base on these.
I'm working on some curtain rods and antler holders next. the rods will be stripped pine.
i have some antlers picked out for the holders but that might change.
I'll mount the antlers on a wooden placard with the pine bows sitting on the main beam between the g 2 and g 4.
if they work out like i plan they will be cool
