Antler Drilling Techinques

My dad has been buggin me to get on here and see how some of your DIY antler chandilier people have been drilling through horns to place wires, mount bulbs, etc. any help he would be grateful. ideas or pics. I guess we have too much bone laying around.

We have just been useing a long 3/8" drill bit picking the straightest route then when it comes out start from that spot and go again then using a antler repair puddy to fix the holes then stain or paint the puddy to match
