Hoot, you are partially right-it's keratin, made up of the same stuff our hair and fingernails are......pretty amazing, huh?

Any of you watched a buck shed the sheath? Either it really hurts, or it itches like mad, I've seen 'em run around in circles bucking and shaking their head like they've lost their mind until they pop off and go flying off into the sage.

They also smell like a$$ dont sniff inside them peeuuu!
I found abut ten last year walking around. The new ones did'nt smell to bad but the older ones were left right where I found them.

I knew it too. I also found one while working once - it was July and it had started to rot away, good size, but the thing stank to high heaven, so I didn't bring it home.

Why is it that most people have
to smell everything they get their
hands on?!

A BUCK ANTELOPE SURE LOOKS FUNNY WITH WHITE HORNS STICKING UP INSTEAD OF BLACK HORNS!!!

MY BOY FOUND A SHED A FEW YEARS AGO & STUCK IT UNDER HIS BED,WHAT A STINKING PIECE OF ART THAT WAS!!!

THE FOXES & COYOTES SLICK THESE UP SO QUICK ITS HARD TO FIND THEM AROUND HERE!!!

THE ONLY bobcat NOT FORGETTING THE SMELL!!!

We used to find these all the time while out camping. we would take them home for the dogs to chew on. We gave them all of the deer sheds too, some big sheds got eaten.

Here's a set I found last week. Every year at the Antler Auction in Jackson this fellow comes by and buys them from me. He uses them for Toilet paper holders in those High Dollar houses they build up there. Can you Imagine?
