Just wondering how many people find the antelope seath? I found one out shed hunting. I was amazed i know how fast they would get ate by rodents and being mostly hair. Just wondering how many others have found any.

ive found plenty, I usually just leave them on the ground because the smell like an unwiped bung hole.

I found one this year. swbuckmaster is right about the smell, it stays in the garage instead of in the basement antler pile.

"Unwiped bung hole??" I love the metaphor! Never thought of it from that aspect but I see a lot of truth to that, or should I say, smell a lot of truth to that.

Ive had kids in diapers. Changing them would literally made me puke so if I new the wife was a few minutes away Id pretend I didn't smell the poopy ones sometimes. LOL Id then kiss her when she got home or be in the act of doing dishes that way I wouldn't get in trouble. The whole house smelled like one of those sheds. so I have smelled a few unwiped bungholes. LOL

Hey if you don't keep the antelope sheaths you find send them my way. They're great for crafting. Once I'm done working them on the lathe, they don't smell at all.

Purely ingenious! It's fun trying to get out of the diaper changing, and is getting harder and harder for me. Thanks for sharing the idea!

My youngest is ALMOST pottie trained! Yeah I've smelled a few dirty butts too, hopefully those days will soon be behind us!

Hang in there Dr_Hunter!
As soon as my oldest turned 2 we got her out of diapers, then we had our second child, now she is 2 and we're about to get her out of diapers. So for four years now we (mostly the wifee) have been changing diapers! I can't wait to quit buying/changing diapers!

The one's that are a little older don't smell. With the fresher ones, just dump some borax in the horn and stand them upside down for a while. Consider yourself lucky if you find one in good shape, they don't last near as long as antlers.

They shed. Usually around November-December has been my experience.

Mark, What kind of wood is that slab. Olive?

They just cut down 80 acres of 100 year old olive trees close to my house. Huge burls tossed into a grinder.

Any way nice work.

deepeneds on the area we have seen them out yote hunting with horns past jan closer to feb, the one i found was in the end of febuary/closer to march
