My guess would be a 12", but I can't see if he has any curl over. Nice buck though, has some mass. But not seeing how his ears match up to the horns while standing broadside I can't really give you a real good guess. I'm no pro, but judging him to ones I have already gotten, while hunting in Wyoming, and all the three where 13", 13 1/2" and 14 1/2" respectfully he doesn't have the same qualities.

He does not strike me as big, he looks average. He lacks curl on the top and digger length, and the diggers are to low. Id say 12"

Can't tell from just that angle. I'm guessing he could be as good as 15+, depending on how much he curls in, w/ the kind of mass and cutters he's got.

Harry, don't worry about the "SIZE" of your Lope, just go and have a Fun hunt, but I'd be more interested in the Prairie Dogs in the foreground of Your photos."Booners",maybe ---

Thanks to all. Unfortunately I don't have a tag yet, I'm still building the points necessary to draw. This isn't a particularly large buck for the area but I've watched him several times while working on hay balers for the guy that owns the field and got to wondering just how big he was. He is a dominant buck in the area and seems to keep his does without much trouble. There are a couple smaller bucks that are always around. I had just watched this one long enough that I got curious as to how big he was. I'll be the first to admit that I know zero about judging antelope but should draw within the next couple of years and knowing how to judge sure won't hurt me.

The prarie dogs in the foreground are fawns. Every year a few get run through the windrowers. Its not good on the fawns or the machine. The antelope are thick here and I get to shoot a doe on a damage controll tag every year. Buck tags are hard to draw, but there have been several B&C bucks killed here in the last few years. Before I can hope to go there and do that I need to know when I'm looking at a B&C animal. SO....... the learning begins.

Thanks Harry

HARRY,My "Mistake",about the Varmits, but with eye glasses on,can for sure see the "little"guys.

"Scoring" Lopes is difficult, but to eliminate alot of Young Bucks, and save time,I like to only give a Buck a second look if HIS prongs/cutters are completly above His ears, this bucks isn't.

Second,use HIS ears as a length guide,again I use 6 inches,most Mature bucks will have 7,sometimes.This Buck is probably 3 1/2 yrs,I'd say.To Judge his Prongs/Cutters,use the EYES,2 inches here.A "Booner"needs 7" Prongs,and 7" of Base and right at 16" of length,some 15 inch-ers will make BOOK,but needs plenty of MASS

I'd say this YOUNG buck is 13-13 1/2 in lenghth, for sure not a shooter,if a "BOONER" is what You are after.Rember, have fun thats what this GREAT sport is all about ---
