researched the area, seem plenty of good public access, anyone from there? Saratoga or Encampment

just wanted to ask where we should camp? we want to campground, where they have water, outhouse, not bring our traveltrailer so we ll camp in the tent.

lots of antelope in that area? we ll be going on Sept 23 from New Mexico.

There are a bunch of USFS campgrounds in the Sierra Madre and Snowy Range mtns around Saratoga and Encampment. A couple on the edge of the forest are the Jack Creek campground and the north and south Brush Creek campgrounds. Check with the Brush Creek/Hayden Ranger District in Saratoga for maps and the status of the campgrounds. BLM maintains a campground along the Encampment River south of Encampment. There's a private campground in Riverside that's called "Lazy Acres" that's right next to the river and is really nice.

had nice trip to Saratoga, 6 tags and 5 filled! antelope doe! can't belive how many buck we saw in 3 days!

we camped at saratoga town lake! nice place! thanks again!!
