Where I am from the first season bull elk is only 5 days. That to me isnt nearly long enough. I have started to look at bows and I have heard from a reliable source that the new SuperSlam reflex bow is the one to get. I was just curious if anyone has one of these new bows. If you do have one I would love know what you think about it. Thanks a lot for your help.

The reflex bows are basically a hoyt bow. They are good bows. Not familiar with the SuperSlam. Hoyt use to make a super slam series in the 80's but they are outdated now.

Best advice I can give you is is pick a bow that feels comfortable to you. Don't get caught up in the name game "Hoyt, Mathews, Bowtech etc. although they all are very good bows. Do not get a draw length that is too long. Most hunters are shooting bows that are from 1-2" too long for them.

Visit a Pro Shop, there service is what you are paying for and it will pay dividends.

Goodluck.

This cannot be overstated! I am currently shooting a bow that would fit me if I were shooting fingers, but since I am shooting a rope release, it is about 1/2" too long. even a half inch really affects the feel of the bow and your accuracy.

Thank you for all of your help. I am going to go a local Bow dealer in Kingman AZ this weekend. Thanks again.

A quick tip for you mathews guys, There are a lot of cams on sale at ebay for the very simple reason that draw length is the key to accuracy, and many folks have made changes. I had a 28" draw and swapped it for my brothers 27.5 on my LX and the comfort increased two fold. Any good proshop can change the cams (might even do it while your changing your string / cable). Fear of change is the biggest achilles heel of archers. There are countless cams on ebay and others sites for reasonable prices. My archery shop charged me 15.00 to swap it out. A small price for better shooting. By the way, keep that old string as a back up. Good luck.
