Jesus. It only gets stupider. mtmuleyDang....if only Kobe had that person piloting his chopper.
Not good when Search and Rescue crashes. Helicopters are scary, only been in one once for a few hours. Glad I didn’t see those pictures before we went up.These are the real deal. I knew folks from both crews.

This one is upside down, FWIW.
Ive dumped a couple and have ridden the litter up. Funny thing about that is (considering the videos where you see the litter spinning) when you look up, it is the helo spinning. It is very quiet and peaceful on the way up.Not good when Search and Rescue crashes. Helicopters are scary, only been in one once for a few hours. Glad I didn’t see those pictures before we went up.
I worked a mishap once where an SH60 with 5 souls aboard hit a power line. There was nothing left.good friend early this year......

We use a ton of them. Most are private owned but contracted with fire agencies for fire suppression. CalFire has some of their own but have been replacing with blackhawks.I wonder how many Huey's are left?
Maybe to gain airspeed. It looks to me the pilot did that on purpose? If he was in trouble, why go back over the deepest part of the canyon? Just go more towards the camera and park that puppy!
Gain airspeed on a helicopter that is malfunctioning? Seems like grabbing the dullest knife in the bin to trim out the backstrap.Maybe to gain airspeed.
Except…..with a sizable vertical stab and no tail rotor like above……Gain airspeed on a helicopter that is malfunctioning? Seems like grabbing the dullest knife in the bin to trim out the backstrap.
Agree, speed is the only thing that kept them alive.Except…..with a sizable vertical stab and no tail rotor like above……
I’d like to know what his turn around radius was…….Agree, speed is the only thing that kept them alive.
Do you/they have any single engine Hueys? We use a ton of them. Most are private owned but contracted with fire agencies for fire suppression. CalFire has some of their own but have been replacing with blackhawks.
I don’t know of any ag hueys that are not single engine…..Do you/they have any single engine Hueys?
Honestly I don’t know if they do. I’m not in the aviation side. I direct aircraft from the ground. I know type 3, 2, 1, lat, vlat and what and when to use them.Do you/they have any single engine Hueys?
I'll put my vote in for The Grace and Mercy of God.....He has more in store for the lives of those on board .Agree, speed is the only thing that kept them alive.
