I'm planning on moving to Wyo the next year and a half for work and I am looking for some acreage. I'll be coming up with Lowes into Evanston but I'm torn between looking for ground around town there or just getting a house and looking for ground out towards Laramie. I hear tell there is going to be be development soon with the upcoming gas fields so should I concentrate on something in town, go north towards Almy and Bear River or screw it and get the condo in Evanston and the 60 acres of grassland near Laramie ? Damn decisions.

Wish I had a answer for ya but things change fast around here but in the long run I'd get the land in Laramie. you never know when the next bust will be.

Not sure where you are from or what you are expecting or used to. The 60 acres around Laramie will be 300 miles from Evanston, so that's a major consideration. And the developments around Laramie that I know of are not in places with year-round access. There can be some tough storms in that area with Laramie over 7000 feet. And there are no utilities in the subs I know of - another consideration.

I'd say move here and take a look around. No need to hurry. There are always places for sale and you'll do better once you spend some time and get to know the state better.

Good luck and welcome.
