If you guys had the choice to get a brand new 2007 Browning Yukon, or a 2002 Matthews Legacy, what would you guys choose.

Assuming all things being equal, draw length, etc.

How many of you shoot Brownings? What are your opinions of Browning bows?

Thanks

I was going to buy the matthews bow, but im thinking the browning would be a better bow. Its a heck of alot nicer and I bet it would shoot better and just be a better bow.
Just wanted to see what you guys thought.

I would shoot as many bows as you can that are in your price range. I have not heard bad about either bow but since the Mathews is used you would not be covered by the warranty. That is the only thing I would be worried about. Good luck

LAST EDITED ON Apr-16-07 AT 08:17PM (MST)[p]Mathews = Cadillac

Browning = Kia

What you should do is shoot as many bows as you can and go to a pro shop and get fitted. If it were me, I'd spend the extra money and buy a Mathews or a Hoyt. I'm fairly new to archery and I'm no expert, but once you shoot a Mathews you will probably be sold. Nothing against Browning, but Mathews and or Hoyt compound bows are hard to beat. IMO

Good Luck

I agree with chukar. So the question is: would you rather have an old caddy or a new Kia? Depends, but I like caddy's (and Mathews,)

Browning bows are made by PSE, being honest the YUKON looks a lot like a past PSE bow made about 6 years ago. Its also the cheapest bow in the browning line up. So to answer your question I would go with the Legacy between these bows. But IMO you should go to several pro shops in your area and shoot as many new bows in you price range as you can. If you like Mathews but can't afford them and want new, then check out the Mission bows made by Mathews. They come with the same warranty as Mathews and they use proven Mathews techknowledgy. I would choose a new Mission over a used Legacy, but thats me and you need to decided for yourself whats best for you.

I shoot a 07" Browning Illusion and I LOVE my bow. One of my hunting buddy's help me set it up and he thinks its smoother than his Mathews Switchback. I shot a 29" DL and 70lb pull. After shooting his bow we decided that the Mathews was in fact quieter but the Browning was smoother and a hair more forgiving. Don't get me wrong i'd shoot either or but my bow is far from a Kia. Besides, its way to fast to be a caddy or a kia haha thanks guys! Enjoy!

Thanks for the comments. Im going to go with the Yukon.

Im just wondering what the difference is. Are Brownings, louder, not as fast, etc?

Can anyone tell me what the main difference is going to be if I shoot the Yukon vs the Legacy. You guys are probably going to say "shoot them both and you decide." But I know there has to be some main differen, not just cost.

Thanks

There is so much diff. between a browning and a mathews that there is not enough time in the day to list em all. If anyone tells you that there is any bow better than a Switchback they are immediately teasing you.. Mathews Switchback = arrows hitting fur!

Never shot a hoyt either?
