Hello everyone this is first time posting, my dad, uncle and cousin and I, are heading out west from michigan for a diy hunt. Was just doing some searching on the Internet but there is not much there as far as help wise. We will be staying in Kaycee we are arriving on Sunday the 16th and hunting that whole week till Sunday. My father is as excited as I can ever Remember seeing him to shoot a Muleys was curious if any one could help me out with some advice areas to key on tips and whatever other info you guys are willING to share is extremely appreciated, also I know that the whitetail deer population is not big but even if you know any good areas for them.

Not really any secrets to hunting the area west of Kaycee. Find the biggest chunks of accessible public land that you can get to on the few roads that are legal to drive on and then do as much hiking/glassing from good lookout spots as far from the roads as you can get. I would have strongly suggested that you skip opening week wherever you hunt, but if you've already got your schedule set and can't change it, be prepared to see more orange than animals.

Yeah we already have everything set but thanks for the info, like I had hinted at my dad is gitty as ever and I am trying to get him on some animals. Thanks for the tip

I will second what Topgun said...out there a few years back and there is a good hometown motel connected to a cafe in Kaycee..owner very helpful to hunters.goodluck hth
