LAST EDITED ON Jun-24-11 AT 00:16AM (MST)[p]This week I had the great honor of hunting for elk sheds with "fatrooster" and "recurveman86". This was the first "elk" shed hunt for recurveman86 and I. Fat showed us the ropes! We had one heck of a time. But..... This is a shed trip that I would NOT want to do every weekend! Good times.

What better way to start a trip off then getting stuck in some good NV snow?

I'm glad we brought a "real" truck ;-)

Once we got done playing in the snow we set up our "motel" for the week.

The first day we got "skunked"! But that made the want to find some bone just that much worse!

Recurve was first to glass up some "brown gold"!

It was all uphill from there!

I was lucky enough to find my first set on this trip! Thanks to Recurve, because it was him I was looking for when I ran into this!

That was the the best and worst 68lbs I've packed yet. It's all fun and games till it's time to pack it out!

On the way out we ran into this. Bit off more then he could drag!

After a hot shower we met back up for one last pic. We found 9 antlers in all. But most of all good memorys were made.

It was one heck of a trip!

It was definitely a good time. I've made that hike several times by myself but for safety reasons I'm including a couple of friends. ELKOHUNTER and recurveman are the ones I'm taking. They are like young puppies, always willing to go anywhere with tail waggin'. Ha ha. fatrooster.
