I am looking to purchase a new bow in the next couple years and really want to get a Hoyt. Are there any types of Hoyt bows or other brands recommended from you guys/gals?

I suspect you'll get A LOT of varied opinions and answers to your question. Keep in mind, most will tell you the "best" bow just happens to be the one they're using. Makes them feel better I suspect. :)

Truth is, there is no "best" bow out there. Archery is a sport that allows idividuality and what is a great bow for me may not be for you. There are MANY great bow manufacturers out there today that produce quality products. If you're set on Hoyt, all the top line bows are great, again, depending on what you're looking for. The V-Tec, Ultra-Tec, and Pro-Tec are great bows. I suggest you shoot each of them before you decide which one you like. I personally shoot the Pro-Tec and it's a great bow for me.

Mathews, Martin, PSE, Bowtech, Relfex, and many others make very good bows as well. Again, it depends on what you want (axle-to-axle length, speed, deflex/reflex riser, parallel limb design, cost, warranty, etc.). You should consider these as well.

My best advice would be to visit your nearest pro-shop and shoot them all. Get one that "feels" good in your hand, is quiet and shockfree, and most of all.....forgiving. Then based on all your findings, choose the one you like most. I've bowhunted for almost 30 years and shot a lot of bows during that time and it has always come down to the advice given. Good luck and most of all have fun.

I have shot a few different brands of bows through the years and i have have become partial to Mathews. Hoyt does make some nice bows though i'm not to fond of the split limbs. I suggest you find a compitent archery shop and go in and shoot some bows and decide for yourself. Not all bows feel the same to everybody. Good Luck with your search.

bohntr summed it up well.

Shoot them all and get the one that fits you best, they're all very good bows.

I shoot a PSE and a Hoyt and love them both.

Good luck on your purchase.

I've personally owned several Mathews, Bowtechs, Hoyts, and Martins and if I had to pick my favorite brand I couldn't do it. Like Roy said, most people will give you a biased opinion based on what they shoot. I've never wanted to "limit" myself to only one brand and I can assure you that you can't go wrong with any of them. If you're leaning towards Hoyt but don't want to break the bank you may want to consider looking at the Reflex line--made by Hoyt. Or Diamond--made by Bowtech. Same technology better prices!

Like the above posts mention and your right handed shoot a few different models. All of the major manufacturers today build a quality product. I shoot a Hoyt Ultratac currently but have had several other brands in the past. Find the bow that you shoot the best and feels good in your hand and you will be on your way. If I may be so bold, stay away from the fastest bows in any manufacturers lineup because they are usually more difficult to shoot. Find a fast yet forgiving model and you will have more interest in shooting the bow. It's more fun to shoot a bow that you shoot well. Good luck and enjoy.

this is alot of help on my search. I looked at a few but im gonna wait till the spring to save money and get serious in purchasing one, then i can shoot over the summer and be ready for the up coming season

I shoot a PSE firestorm nice little bow, but I am looking at the new AR31 and the AR34 looks like a fast little bow. But is like everyboby says go shoot different bows and see what fits you!!!! just my two cents. :]
