A couple more sets from the late 90's

The top two photo's are of a buck, he put on 30" of antler in one year. Top set scores about 193 gross.

This pic is two sets off of a 40" buck, The set I am holding is 34" wide and grosses around 180 the set on the ground is the next year and it grosses about 170 and is 41-43 inches wide. I think there is about 5 seconds of it on Eastmans mule deer stalker 4 running straight away accross a field. We had the antlers set at 41 1/2 when we mounted the sheds

Awesome! Do you find many like them nowadays? How many different spots do you hit to find sheds like those? Keep em Comin!

Acctually, pretty much quit shed hunting, to much competition. The wide buck above ruined all my areas, Everybody around filmed or saw him, I used to hit my areas about once every 3 years, and I'd come out with 50 or 60 horns a day, found 3 35" or bigger bucks that year, I only hit 2 areas for all of the big sets, once you know where the big boys shed, you'll find good sets there every year. Problem is areas I used to hit once every 3 years get hit by 50 or 60 guys a year now, you have to hit it when the snows deep, and I don't like doing it that way. Hit it in the summer, find a few. Snowmachines and chute planes have been trying to herd the deer in my areas the last few years, they scatter them and must not realize their making the hunting harder for everyone, including themselves. Still find a couple good sets a year only been out about 10 times the last 2 years. Mostly look for elk sheds now.

Thats what i have seen in one of the areas i shed hunt....way too many people and way too much pressure on the deer during the crucial months. Have you narrowed the search for the 400" elk sheds? Seems you have already kicked the hell out of the 40" buck sheds!

I feel good when I find a 300 elk set, never hunted anywhere within 100 miles of a 400 inch bull

Do you still have all the muley sheds you have posted? If I found any of them they would be permanent residents of my house!
Good luck with finding a 400" bull....there are more and more out there each year it seems!

have them all, hope to mount them all someday, a 350 set of elk sheds where I hunt would be a miracle. 320 in my stomping grounds is cream of the crop.
