Well i finally got some free time to go up into the hills once again and go looking for some more horns, started out good with a set from last year and then picked up a few from a couple years ago and finally ended the day with a nice brown set.

Walked 20 yards pass these ones last year.

7x4, had some decent mass to him and pretty good up top.

Spotted this one from down below, don't know how i seen it through all the brush but the last fork on the main beam is what drew my attention i guess.

Went looking for the match across the trail and then up the trail to the top with no luck, low and behold he was only about 5 yards down a little lower.

Here's the set, i actually found this bull's sheds 3yrs in a row now, from last years set i'd have to say this bull is on the decline, last years 6x6 set grossed 377 with a net score of 371 and this year's 7x6 set grossed 366 and ended up with a net score of about 345.

A closer shot of the brown set back at home.

I didn't mean to exaggerate the spread in this pic, just wanted to show his browtines better, he's got 22" G-1's and his left G-2 is 23", we green scored him right at 366 but he's got tons of deductions, 20" worth! still not too bad of a bull though.

Here's the day's shed totals back at home.

The $Money Shot$, a good day out of the office.

WOW!!!

Love the character of the sheds. Was that four point side broken off?

Hey thanks for the comments everyone, hope everyone else is out there looking for racks too, or at least getting some exercise, we usually get a pretty good work out when we go out so thats always good, all of these racks come off of the San Carlos in ARIZONA, the 7x4 was busted off looks like sometimes before, at first it looked like a fresh break but turned out not to be and the brown set was in almost perfect condition besides the rodent chewing, all in all a good day out in the hills, hope to post another story from my next trip soon, good luck to everyone and show us your finds!

Great looking sheds Dan. thanks for taking the time to document your photos... You don't know how that fuels the fire within to get out and find some sheds or scout some critters this summer.

Always a fan of San Carlos... Where the big are bigger!
