What is it? How does it work? Is it that important for uphill/downhill shots? Links, info,...anything will help.

I'm looking at the HHA OL-5000 sight and the Sureloc Lethal weapon Max Single-pin and heard that the Sureloc has 3rd axis, but the HHA doesn't(I don't think so anyway).

Help!
Thanks!

You have two different axis in releation to a bow sight. What is refered to as the 2nd in the whether the bow is at a 90 degree angle from the ground or not. The 3rd comes into play anytime your on any angle. And it has to do with your sight housing being parralel to your bow. So lets say the end of your pin housing is further from your bow than the inside. When you go to shot uphill or at longer yardage your bubble is going to be left of center. So with your level in the middle of the marks in this senario your impact will be out the left. Some times you will here people say that the further they shoot the farther out the left or the right they impact, this is a common cause of that. My analogy could be reversed as to which way it would change your impact, but either way its worth it to have the 3rd axis.

Thanks Inline!! I went to Spott-Hogg's website as well as archerytalk forum and found some good info there. I appreciate your help!

Do you all think, then, that a guy should lean towards getting a 3rd axis sight? IS it worth it? Or will the HHA (or similar)be fine?
Experience/suggestions?
Thanks!

I just bought a new bow this last year and opted for the 3rd axis on my spothogg. I figured why not its not going to hurt anything and if it helps its that much better.

I have leveled up a ton of peoples sights that aren't 3rd axis adjustable. You just have to bend them a little but it works. One thing that any sight must have is a strong housing with a good bubble, by that I mean glued in straight.

I would say it helps. After shooting the new bow a couple of times I was shooting it better then my old bow I had been shooting for 5 years. Im shooting better all around uphill, downhill, angles, you name it.
