32 late buck madness

Im in the Idaho Air National Guard. I drew the 32 late season tag thinking i would have plenty of time to scout and track some toads but I had training for six months in Texas and just got back Friday. I went up this weekend and drove and hunted all over the unit. saw tons of bucks but nothing tag worthy.

I need a little help here. I dont have a lot of time left and the chances i draw this tag again are slim to none thanks!

Well i just got back from a cold rough hunt but im pretty excited. I hunted by myself for a few days and i didnt have anyone to share hunt with so i thought id post it on here. I saw several bucks nothing tag worthy the first few days. Yesterday i was trying to find a trail that i could even go down because of the snow. I ended up on a ridge top glassing into the little finger draws below. I spotted some deer in some brush and could see there was at least a couple bucks but they looked kind of small so i took the trail down the hill. about half way down i stopped to have another look and i could see a deer i hadnt seen yet feeding in the brush. turns out to be a nice buck. I snuck down into the bottom of the draw and went up the finger draw to the left and then creeped over the edge to see about getting a shot. it was pretty open and then covered with 7in.s of snow so i could only get to about 370yrds for a shot. first shot hit him in the shoulder and lungs he ran up out of the draw, out of the brush and looked around for a second. I wasnt sure at the time if i hit vitals so i shot again and broke the spine. Pretty exciting hunt and glad to be able to tag a nice buck.

Good work and nice buck. I think I saw you up there after you had gotten your buck out at willow cr., blue-ish Jeep with a trailer?? We were heading out from our morning hunt, ended up with a good one. Congrats!

yup that was me? what were you driving? what were you after?

We were up there deer hunting. I was driving a black dodge with a silver horse trailer over the weekend, but yesterday was in a gold titan.

you looking for a cow or a buck? if your looking for a cow i havent seen a single elk. I covered a lot of land on that 4wheeler and hiked a lot as well. I would go up to the tree line by sweet/ola for 32 cow. If you have the late buck tag, send me a pm and ill give you an area to go where i saw several bucks in each little draw.

I had the late buck tag as well. I hauled out this buck on monday. He was just shy of the 30" mark, unofortunately...

damn, thats a big 3 point! i saw several nice 3's that looked better than most of the 4's i saw, i just wanted a wide, heavy 4 point but with the limited time i had to hunt, ill take him anyday

Nice Buck! I passed on this buck Nov 1st being that it was my first day out. Congrats, that is a good deer!

Nice Buck Nick, I knew you could do it!!! I wish I could have been there when you took this awsome trophy son. But, as you know I was less than 10 miles away on another hill side filling my ELk tag. I hope that next year we get to spend more time hunting together. Nick I am very proud of you and very happy for you, good job.
