There are 3 different surveys of interest to hunters on the IDFG website:

nonbiological rules proposals (a wide variety of rule changes included such as trapping methods, ability to apply for an unlimited controlled hunt as a second choice, and many others): https://fishandgame.idaho.gov/ifwis/portal/form/2012-nonbiological-rules

elk hunter survey (as part of the ongoing revision of the state-wide elk plan): http://www.cnr.uidaho.edu/IDFG/elkhuntersurvey.htm

and

OHV access and hunting survey http://www.cnr.uidaho.edu/access/ohvsurvey.htm

Results of these surveys are very important and taken very seriously by staff and the commissioners. Please take the time to weigh on issues that are important to you.

Thanks,

Tom Keegan,
IDFG Salmon Region Wildlife Manager

The ATV survey was a little long but SUPPORT restrictions. Bess will be disapointed about there NOT being tuneups. LOL

Thanks Tom.

I just wish there was enough enforcement of the current restrictions.

It is a bad feeling when you park at the trailhead of an ATV trail and start hiking an hour before sunrise, and right before shooting light an ATV full of hunters breaking the law passes you on the road.

It is so easy to turn off a main road and know it is highly unlikely you'll get caught that a lot of people break this law. Also, a lot of people don't agree with the law, so they willfully ignore it.

I would like to see strict enforcement, maybe wardens on dirt bikes flying up and down ATV trails, and very strict penalties (loss of hunting privileges for five years).

It is such an advantage to have an ATV in these areas (which is why the rule was put in effect) that those that break this law should be severely reprimanded.
