I can't say that i can catch one every day like these but i'm blessed to live where fish like these are common and just a little luck on a decent day...

those are dandy's Joey!
I caught one Veterans day in the Animas on an egg pattern (fly fishing), just over 20 inches but kind of scrawny. I think he just got done spawning.

Animas has some monsters in it here though, I'm talking 10-20 pounders as the extreme ones, but there are alot in the 20-25 inch range.

Are you talking about the Animas that runs through Durango?

I know the exact spot they shocked that fish. It was in a very unlikely place right in town.

LAST EDITED ON Dec-22-09 AT 09:41PM (MST)[p]Wow! I love brown trout--they are such awesome carnivores.

Here's my guess: 10.935 pounds

Not to be a smart alec. There is a formula that will tell you the weight if you know the lenght and girth:

((lenght) x (girth)^2)/800=weight in pounds

I guessed the girth at 18 inches.

What do I win?
