Finally got to upload 2011 pics on the computer, sorry guys these are well over due and also have 2 other postings of pics to keep you guys buys for a few minutes. Unit 23 opening day archery buck, was chasing around some dandys and my nemesis buck that's been eluding me for years, had them pin pointed but came across this guy and could not resist due to only having a 3 day hunt this year. My standards were low, 3pt plus (which is fine for the area plenty of these small bucks and mature bucks so not a big deal to shoot), got cocky and punched and jerked a 40yd shot and liver shot him. after looking for a while with no blood other than my blood filled arrow i got discouraged, i spooked up a heard of elk (which i also had a tag for) and could have shot cows and bulls but elected not to because i already had one on the ground and one would have spoiled in the hot late august afternoon. shortly after the elk encounter i found him about 200 yards from where shot and had bedded and expired in a thicket edge of a meadow. felt bad for the short time suffering of the liver shot, but these things happen with any weapon.
