A local friend came by to see if the shed he found was a match. We think a match...13" bases, 55-56" main beams, and with mass ...a 380+ bull; great set, he wants to do a mount. I would've never found the match in 50 yrs. of searchin' according to where he found his and I found mine!

"Now we come to the most important pre-season question. Do you just want to go elk hunting, or do you want to bring one back? If you desire the latter, there is no substitute for hard work. The bigger your goal, the harder the work required to get there. Good luck!" - Cameron R. Hanes

those are nice sheds. i dont think its a set though, look at the diffrence in space between the second and the thirds. The forths look diffrent too.

I totally agree this is NOT a set.
The G1's & 2's have an entirely diffent curl to them.
Very close though and good finds, but keep looking ;-)

I gotta disagree with you guys... All the same beading... same color.. those points come off the beam at the same spot.. I'm saying match :)

LAST EDITED ON Dec-11-09 AT 04:04PM (MST)[p]Oh yea, and the Burrs are the same size. Notice the same curve on the beam below the 4ths.... MATCH

great looking bulls! im saying no match. the brow thines v out differently, none of the points appear the same. I think you guys stumbled on 2 different bulls sheds.

Man I could go ether way on this one, it is wierd that the one side is so different, but it is not imposible.

I would have to see them in person to tell for sure, about how far apart were they found from each other.

Most of the time the pedical will be the same shape also thats how I tell for sure.

LAST EDITED ON Dec-12-09 AT 10:52PM (MST)[p]The one in his left hand is turned out and looks diff due to angle. I'm saying definately a match. I think it is pic angle that is screwy. If not they are brothers.

Guys...you're right for thinkin' no match, and Tyson and I are no experts.. they do look different because of camera angle, spacing, different tine lengths...I examined a bunch and was really reluctant to part with mine because I noted the differences; however nature is not always symmetrical. They were really close around the bases and the way the first two points grew off main beam, even though there would be point discrepancies from side to side over-all. Another thing that made me skeptical was the distance apart from where they were found- I still like to think match! In 2005,I found where a big bull had jumped a fence, and the hard landing had caused both antlers to land on top of each other. To me, if I had found separately, I would have really questioned if they were from the same bull... I guess DNA test (if it can be done off old bone) would settle any arguments:). it.

Set or not there awesome sheds. Personaly I think they look like a set. Antlers don't always look like matches. I've seen 5x1 4x6 suff like that. If I found the sheds of those bulls would that mean they are not a match set. Spyder bulls brows go crazy I'm assuming there a match set, but then again mossback was involved so we really don't know the truth about that bull.

All I know is 24X7 is a dork. All he picks up is powder pink sh!t anyway. Good find my friend.

Hornkiller do you have anymore of your dad's horns you could post for us. If you do make sure your in a WIFE BEATER flexing those huge muscles.

will do dork! i only posted one of my dad's horns and you called my brother crying! You only wish you could find 1/4 of the bone i do, probley just mad you can't fit into a wife beater! It was 103 and i had been hike'n for hours in it, it was the only pics i had so i shared them for people who really don't care to study a guy in a wife beater on the web.

p.s. heres a couple for ya 3x4

My vote is that it is matched set. Between the G1 and G2 looks identical on both sheds. The G1s and G2s are all straight with the same little curl at the end. The color and texture are the same. Both G4s have a little wave in them. The main beams are about the same length, with the same basic curl and shape. The fact that they are both 7s. Definitely a match if you ask me.

Nocked N Loaded

That's where I was really not sure...guessing they were half-a-mile apart! But guys, we examined them, held them, noted the discrepancies, we think a match. Tyson was willing to trade a truck full of bone so he could have the set. It was probably the biggest shed I'll ever find, and I do a lot of hiking. His goal is to mount them on a head; that was good enough for me that someday I might get to admire the antlers on a mounted head.

yeah you gotta give up a single to put a set together.
Found the match to a friends 350" find and did not think twice about forking it over. It was about 3/4 miles away from the first half. Would hope for the same treatment.

OK no doubt about it now.... that is a matched set. Pete just dont know how to hold them right. LOL;-) Just kidding buddy.

Hey Tyson! You really got much better pics. They oughtta put the critics to rest! Good job, buddy! I hope someday you realize the dream of having them on a mounted head. Let's hope we can find the guy who shed them... I don't think he's been harvested yet, do you?
