LAST EDITED ON Feb-25-08 AT 07:19PM (MST)[p]What do you think of:

07, Diomond Triumph for 399.00

07, Diomond Justice for 359.00

07, Diomond Liberty for 599.00

07, Diomond Black Ice for 650.00

I've read the other posts about what bows everyone is shooting and I'm trying to get a quality bow for for less than 500.00
Are these 07 Diomonds good bows, reliable, quite, etc? How do they compare to Matthews/PSE/Hoyt? Is there a problem with Scams on E-Bay when it comes to buying a new bow like Diomond and getting the real thing and not a nock off?

Getting a bow off of Ebay can be good, but Buyer Beware! There is some guy(s) on Ebay doing a little scam with Bows. If you look through the "Related Guides" section on the far left after searching for a Bow, it lists some of the scams.

I bought a Fred Bear Truth (Not quite the Diamond) and had problems with the seller not returning my emails after the sale. Sweet deal I thought - $125 off retail! He finally responded back and said the item was shipped; but there was never any option for insurance like the ad posted. I emailed him about it and he said to PayPal the other $5 bucks for the Insurance and he would send it out that day. I kept emailing about the tracking number and I got nothing. I did a pretty intensive search and found him through Google and Mapquest. I called him up and saked what was going on. He said he shipped it the day before, but could not give a tracking number due to scams. Does this sound Fishy or what?? After I had already won the item, I read the "Scams" like listed above and I was Freaked Out! This was supposed to be here in 3 days and now it was more like 9 days! Needless to say, I did get the bow, but man my heart was racin! Not a very good start for a new bow hunter, but in the end....I guess it was worth it.

Moral of the Story...Do the research and take time to read through the Feedback and Bidding History etc. If you see alot of weird names with low or little feedback - Beware! If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

black ice !! love it feels great draws smooth. think the 07 has gone down in price to??

Elkohunter, So you can see I'm moving from packs now to doing my research on Bows. I'm having a great time on hear learning from you all.
I believe you suggested the Liberty to me in my Backpacking post. I found a liberty at Bass Pro but was only able to hold it. Got to check out the Hoyt Marquis which the salesman was pushing. Good looking bow. I think the advice you all have given in other other posts is to try some different bows to see what feels right to the shooter, so I've talked to the owner of Pasific Archery and I'm going down there to shoot some bows. Hope he has a Hoyt,PSE,Matthews,Diamond. He doesn't have many/any 07's so I'm sure the prices are going to be up there. I understand that he gives free service to customers who buy bows from him and that may be a good way to go for his time on the front and back end.

Erock: thanks for sharing experience, had the same thing happen with a Sirus Radio. Have you or anyone here heard of people on E-Bay selling Nock off's? Are there Nock Off Bows out there?Being new to E-Bay, is there a way to ensure that when you pay your money, you're going to get your bow?

Timberline,You also recomended this bow to me in the backpacking post. I checked out the PSE X-Force and was impressed with the technical aspects of the bow. Here's a few questions:
1. Does having both cams curved (shell shaped) like that make the bow harder or more shallenging to shoot, less forgiving?
I read somewhere that having twin curved cams makes for a very sensitive "hold" and that the slightest release or movement will result in the bow want to fire. I also read that it's important to purchase the best bow you can afford and learn to shoot that bow!
2. What specifically is "Better" about the X Force or PSE then Diamond/Hoyt/Matthew? Reliabiltiy, Percision, Stays tuned longer???

Happy Hunting, Matt

Matt do yourself a big favor and buy your bow thru a proshop. You can get a deal on a leftover 07. You can get a proshop to help you with ebay you're lost after the sale. I'm telling you this because you don't seem to really know a lot about archery and that's not a good place to be when buying a bow on ebay. The Diamonds are great bows for the money. I'd lean towards the liberty, ice or marquis if it were me. All are parallel limb models that shoot great and have very little felt recoil. Hoyt makes some great bows and the Xforce is a nice bow too. You alone have to shoot them and be the judge of what you buy. Buy what feels good to you and shoots well for you. All of them will stay in tune if you take care of them and put a good set of cables and strings on them. Good luck and read some of the other threads on buying a new bow on here to help you.

Boskee, pasific arcery here in Vegas doesn't have a good sellection of 07's so I'm torn between buying 08/retail and getting a 07 on line. I'm going down to Pasific anyways and talk to the owner and shoot some bows and if his prices are fair I might get my first bow from him. We'll see. Thanks for pitching in. Happy Hunting, Matt

X-force! If not the Black Ice.

Tiberline, I'm seriously looking at:
X-Force, Black Ice, Marquis, Liberty. God I hope he P.A has some 07's! Would you purchase a bow on e-bay? Is there any chance of the bow being a knock off?

I shoot a Mathews Switchback XT but of the bows you mention my hunting partner shoots the Diamond Justice, I think thats about a $600 dollar bow. He loves it and has taken alot of game with it. Never heard him say a bad thing about it, or that he wants to get rid of it and he is a serious, hard core hunter.

With ebay there are some great deals to be had. Just take your time pay attention to feedback and pay with paypal because paypal has $1000 buyers protection so if you do get screwed you can dispute it. We bought a dog caller and it came with crap batteries and the guy was a jerk and wouldn't work with us so we disputed with paypal, the guy wouldn't respond so paypal refunded our money, took it from hi account and put it back in ours and because he wouldn't respond we didn't even have to send back the collar. Also make sure they have real pictures of the item not stock photos. You could shoot a lot of bows. Figure out what you like best and get it online and take it into the shop and have them help you set it up, teach you some tuning methods but that adds to the cost so you would have to factor that in to cost too. For the money where you are a first timer and don't know much about it I don't think it will end up being a hole lot more to just buy one at that shop all set up and get your money out of their time.
