I was wondering if I could get some advice. This Friday night I bought my first bow, a Hoyt lazertec. It is one of their more affordable bows, but I think for a first bow it will do just fine, plus I just couldnt afford the Trycon. But here is my qestion. I may have the opportunity to buy a used 2005 Mathews for the same price. Which would you go with.
Thanks

Stick with the Hoyt the customer service is the best they will replace the limbs for life and that includes you being stupid and runnning them over with your truck (I know:) )

I also would ask which Matthews.

WAsharpstick - Matthews also warrants the limbs (etc.) for life if you are the original owner.

Cool matthews seem like a real nice bows but I have fallen in love with my ultratec, spendy but the best hoyt makes.

I am not sure which Matthews it is. My Father in law works with the guy that might be selling it and he is going to try and get that info for me this week. From what my father in law told me it sounds like this guy buys the best every year, so I am just going to assume it is Matthews top bow from last year. So again, Matthews top bow from 2005 or a brand new 2006 Hoyt which is one of their more price friendly bows.
Thanks

If it's a higher end bow like a Switchback, you're much better off with it instead of a lower end bow from any manufacturer. Believe me, there is a reason why they cost twice as much! Good luck.

Depends.....Which one fits you best? You are you are the only one who can decide. If you already have a Hoyt paid for, then why second guess yourself? You shouldn't buy a bow anyway without shooting it first. All that really matters is that you can consistantly put arrows where you want them consistantly, regardless of name brand. IF you can shoot your hoyt, and like it, then you aren't going to gain anything by getting a new BRAND X Bow. I'd take a 5-10 year old bow that fits me, and shoots well over a new bow that doesn't fit me, regardless of brand or appearance.

Both are top of the line bow makers. Its kind of a personal choice. I would shhot both and see which one suits you better. I shot a mathews for a couple of years and now am shooting a hoyt xtec and for me I have never shot better.
