I have a 2000 Jimmy 4.3 4WD SUV. I am hoping that some MMer's here are mechanically inclined.

My Jimmy is throwing two codes P0175, P0300.

There is a common fule pressure regulator problem with GMC's and especially this year and model.

P0175 is "Too Rich Bank 2"
P0300 is "Randowm/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected"

The Jimmy also has a problem starting and smells of gas afeter it starts.

Could all of this be due to a faulty Fuel Pressure Regulator??

Thanks for any help...

Travis

Could be a bad regulator!

Ain't much to changing one!

With modern day Electronic Trash you might guess the problem & fix it for less than taking it to the shop!

But you might not!:D

Had a 2000 chevy 4 door blazer 4 x4 same type of issue changed out all the plugs brand new but then kept having to change the O2 sensors, kept throwing codes for bank1 bank2, got rid of it and solved all my problems.

LAST EDITED ON May-04-12 AT 08:56PM (MST)[p]Fuel pressure regulator. I HAD a '99 (biggest POS I've ever owned!) that suffered the same symptoms and took several trips to the shop to figure out. They started with plugs, wires, filter, pump, sensors, and even told me it could be the catalytic converter before they figured out it was the fp regulator. I fixed it and sold it within a couple days. That thing was a money pit from hell and had less than 100k on it.

Pretty sure they have to pull the intake, etc. completely off to get to it.

Ya,I won't argue Foreman!

Bunch of BS if the Regulator is not fairly Accessible!

They don't make modern day vehicles easy to work on!

They expect you to bend over & enjoy the 120.00 per hour treatment they're gonna give you!

When you open the Hood on newer vehicles & can't even see the engine because of Emissions & Electronics is total BS!

I used to like to Mechanic!

They can have it!

The reliability in alot of the newer TRASH built today SUCKS!

I can't remember for sure because I've tried to forget about that POS, but it seems like it cost me right around $600.00 to have the fuel pressure regulator changed, and $500.00 or so of that was labor.

Ya the fuel pressure regulator on every other car I have or have owned was external and about a 5 minute fix...

The Jimmy I am finding is a problem child.

Thankd for everyone's help/answers.
