Guys, I just recently fletched some carbon express terminator XP arrows (29" 6075) with 2" quick spin speed hunters and using 125 grain head I have a finished arrow weight of 462 grains. These 2" Speed hunters have shown great flight characteristics and improved my groups. I did notice a slight bit more sound while in flight but I am not sure how that will play out in a hunting situation. They are the same size as my blazers that I usually use. Has anyone else tried these?

Usually I would say that those vanes have two much drag on them and would slow your arrow down too much after 40-50 yards. Don?t fletch them with a helical! Drag on your arrow will open up your groups at longer distances. Too much of a good thing can be bad.
However you are shooting such a heavy arrow it probably won't matter. Good Luck!

I have been ridiculed by my pro shop guy about shooting a straight vane since I first started shooting 4 years ago. While I am sure that it had an effect on my broadheads at first, I have since went to the quik spins. I just redid some arrows today with the new speed hunter model and am looking forward to trying them out. I liked the older ones, but am excited to shoot the new models. Went out and shot this morning with the old setup and hit 22 of 24 superkills, and the other two were dead targets. I think these little vanes are the ideal and maybe only option for a guy who shoots a straight fletch. JMO.

SW could you explain why a helical will cause worse groups at longer ranges? I have never heard this before and just wondering why. I have heard of the helical causing more drag and it makes sense but how much drag is actually increased. Is there any actual chronographed results to show how much is actually lossed or gained with different fletching set ups? The guessing thing does not mean much.
