LAST EDITED ON Apr-22-09 AT 10:44PM (MST)[p]well i just found a huge pair of sheds and there pretty chalked out but most of the points are still intact. but one side has been chewed on pretty bad.. does anyone know someone who can fix it? or are there ways to fix it yourself? ill post pics soon

There are at least a couple different ways you can go depending on how much needes to be repaired. Up to three inches, if necessary drill a hole in the top and insert a wooden 1/4" dowel for strength, and form using epoxy putty. Sand until smooth. I repaired the left G-4 and the all the cheaters using this method with this set (sorry if you've seen this before):

Be warned, I learned the hard way that epoxy will not take stain the same as natural bone. You'll have to give the entire set a base coat of off-white enamel

and then paint it like a canvas.

For more than three inches, I learned that epoxy will not be strong enough, so I'd recommend a fiberglass, which a buddy was kind enough to do for me after my epoxy G2 broke off in his hands while he was painting it. Turned out pretty good.

I bought a 24" cape off of ebay and it's currently at the taxi being shoulder mounted.

Holy Crap what an awsome set, what state did they come from.

You should be able to restore them, and make them look awsome.

LAST EDITED ON Apr-23-09 AT 05:30AM (MST)[p]WOW!! What an incredible rack! Ignore what I said above. I'd take that one to a professional taxidermist and spend the bucks to have it done right. Very nice.

Make sure you enter those bad boys in the shed contest, too.

well yeah we did try and score him he has a couple points that are broken off a little bit but we figure he would probably be in the 265-280 range

What a freakin pig!

Did you just pick those up or have they been in "hiding" for a while in an attic or someone's garage?

That set is SICK!!

Those...are dirty giants! How old do you think those pisscutters are? Congrats.

I know a guy that can make those look real sweet. Roundy Taxidermy down in Glendale Utah. He can fix the points and color them puppies up real nice and they will look like the old hog just dropped them. PM me for more info if you want to.

Are you freaking kidding me! What a pig! Good luck restoring those hogs. BoneJunkie is right, Trav would do you a nice job on those filthy pigs. Good luck!

Here is an example of what I can do. I did these for a guy from antlerfest last year. They were about 6-7 years old also had some holes in them along with large cracks. Pictures do them no justice.

I just finished these. They were older with a few cracks and such. Did them up, stained em, and slapped them on a Mountain Mikes reproduction skull.
