“No" Scope Mods

Been looking for a 1X scope for my upcoming hunt with little success. So today I contacted UT DNR and asked if I could modify a 1x4 scope so it is only 1 power. Guy said that they have had several calls wanting to know if this would be allowed. Short answer was “NO”.

Wonder if I could “modify” my 1-10x by turning it all the way down to 1x.

Have you put it through the paces much? Would you trust it to dial correctly and retain zero?

I got that leupold in the mail as well. It has a lot of good reviews. I'm curious about the dail part if you can really get it set up to accurately hit with a custom turret.

I’m putting one through its paces using a stout load pushing 290 grain Barnes bullets. Pleased so far, scope is tracking well and the red dot adjustments are good. I’ve shot out to 300 and in the right lighting (low light) you can adjust that dot down and easily hold sub moa. Brighter light on brighter surfaces definitely present challenges in picking small spot.

I need to shoot a box test but scope seems to be tracking well and returning to zero. I am however struggling to confirm the MOA ticks on bottom of turret which are very small and difficult to read.

Would like to hear others experience as well.

That is good to hear. Time to get it set up. Simple to use and good clarity and target acquisition are a huge bonus.
