MOST UNUSUAL CATCH ON A FISHING ROD???

These stories were amazing and entertaining...like the "box of chocolates"...fishing- sometimes you just don't know what you'll catch! ;)

    Unusual kill site pics

Not always- this large buck was living quite comfortably in town until this year when he followed does out into the areas away from safety, and was spotted and harvested- he was a 6x5 w/32" spread.

    Unusual kill site pics

A couple of my favorite pics: one demonstrates how vicious a fight can be; the other of a banged up survivor I encountered (he looked pretty roughed-up... but not too bloodied!)

    Unusual kill site pics

Luckily, most fights we don't even see or hear about, the result at most is worn-out or tired, stressed bucks with broken racks. ;)

    Unusual kill site pics

A friend sent me a couple of pics of an incident between two bucks in a Caliente, Nevada neighborhood where one buck killed another. Thought it a rather unusual "kill site".

    Nevada Moose Hunt

Not a Nevada bull. I've attached a pic of one in 2021 (Jarbidge Area) , and another in Charleston Nevada (2017) for examples.

    Cutthroats Only

Nice thread and pics of some awesome cutthroats! I don't have pictures...but some incredible memories of my times fishing Nevada's Pyramid Lake. I think during my college years (1970's) the Indians had a minimum size limit of 19 inches for keepers. I caught lots of fish, but NEVER caught a...

MOST UNUSUAL CATCH ON A FISHING ROD???

This has already been reported- but I was fishing next to a guy who didn't get to his pole in time, and the fish took off. I came along- he told me that was his bobber with rod, reel, and fish attached. I could see the bobber moving about. With a few casts with a spinning lure, I was able to...

MOST UNUSUAL CATCH ON A FISHING ROD???

My brother sent this one- fishing in a small creek, a water snake tried to eat his fish, but he was able to land them both. He said the snake was able to release the fish and escape!

    Hobbies outside of hunting?

It's getting so hard at 77 yrs. of age (physically, and health-wise), as well as drawing a deer with luck every five years- I have just as much fun, and I don't push the envelope any by chasing deer, elk and other critters with my video camcorder. My most consistent finds are town deer or deer...

Double-drop or Unusual Brow Tine Antlers

I saw this mount recently in a hardware store. Anyone harvest or found a buck with unusual or not normal drop tines? I've heard of or seen double and single drop-tines- but I thought this one was eye-catching!

MOST UNUSUAL CATCH ON A FISHING ROD???

Years ago fishing for Lahontan Cutthroat trout at Nevada's Pyramid Lake, I was pretty excited to think I finally got a big one (in those days I had witnessed fishermen landing 20-30# fish!). The fish didn't seem to be playing right, though, and much to my chagrin, I learned I'd tail-hooked a 10#...

    Hole in the horn

This from years ago & not "hole in horn", but I'm on the left, my Dad with his buck in the middle. The day before, I shot the tip of the buck's antler off. Amazingly, I found the tip while looking for blood sign, and kept the piece I'd found- fit the antler upon examination, minus a few chips...

I hate being technologically-challenged! Couldn't log into NV Pete -(my account) so I just created a new account! And it took me half a day to figure it out!:p

Stories of the one(s) that haunt you the most.

I'll share one of mine. For many years, my family and I hunted deer in the Elko, NV area on large family camps/hunts. We would take whatever deer we could get, as we were all mostly meat buck hunters. I usually only had 3-5 days to hunt because of family or work commitments. It was the last day...
