I had 2 buddies that had 4th season tags in 44. One guy dropped a real nice 4x4 that probably scored 173-183. The other guy scouted for 4 days before opening day and hunted all 5 days and ate the tag. He didn't find anything over 170". The season timing would not allow me to get up there and...

I hunted 44 probably 6 years ago, I hunted 4th season so there were a few other hunters but not big numbers of guys around. Was a great experience and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Use your spotting scope and don't be afraid to get off the roads to search for good deer.

I will be up there starting 10/3 with my son. He has a rifle antelope tag for unit 3. Doesn't have designs on holding out for a 16" goat, he will be real happy with one 14.5-15" Good Luck to all.

I figured out what I was doing wrong, the bull scores 328 the way he lays. IF that 3rd had been unbroken he would score right around 350". Area 2 is as great as all of you can imagine.

There is what looks like a good spot to camp on Rd 10N just north of Irish Canyon approx. 2-5 miles. Don't know a thing about hunting in the area, there will be other hunters camped there perhaps they would be able to help you out.

Here are a couple of the pics of my bull. I am having a little issue with scoring him. The B&C website puts him at 360" gross when I enter the numbers. I don't think that he is in that class of bull. So I am doing something incorrectly, when I figure it out I will post up.

Scouting is almost over, I will head up there a couple of days before the season starts. The fires in the area have caused a few changes in my plans but will just need to adjust. I have not found the bull of my dreams yet...but have seen quite a few bulls in the 300-310 range. I did watch...

The lack of water in the unit has me a little concerned. I know that the elk just don't up and move 50 miles but boy is the dust deep. I did manage to find some water hopefully the few puddles are still around in 5 weeks.

Nice Mount! This is a guess but I would think that he scores 335" If he is a bunch bigger than that, my apologies.

Get it on tape, turn it into the warden. Obvious case of harassment. Perhaps it is wise to turn the other check and hunt elsewhere, but I don't take it very well when someone threatens me or my legal hunt experience. Good Luck
