Obviously I’d rather not run into illegals but I know that’s part of the game. I haven’t heard how bad it was the last year or two. I assume it’s still wild?
Had an incredible hunt, first evening of scouting we glasses up a 412 bull that got shot later in the season 13 miles away!! We had multiple close encounters with big bulls ruined by some of the worse calling I’ve ever heard in my life from other groups lol. Over all we saw a ton of elk (and...

So me and my brother are wanting to chase some coues this winter with the bow in southern Az. But with it being a 35+ hour drive we’re looking into flying and renting a vehicle. My question is how practical is taking a rental vehicle into some of these units or should we just deal with it and...
Spent a lot of time scouting for elk in the unit last year and found a bunch of respectable pronghorn in unique areas. Talked to multiple hunters who hadn’t seen a buck in days while we were seeing multiple a day. I’m not an experienced antelope hunter but If anyone has the tag and wants some...
It’s been kinda meh, they bugle for about an hour or two in the morning then don’t start up again till right before dark. Bulls respond to calls but don’t really get fired up. Still seeing big bulls solo ignoring cows. Some are with cows but don’t seem to be rutting really hard.
Never been to 10 heading up there this weekend to start scouting for my dads tag and was curious if any of you had info on what type of roads are though out the unit especially on the big Bo. Trying to plan a route to scout but don’t know how fast you can drive these roads and get around. I know...
We contacted a few people and guides and they all kinda told us that they would send us into the second hand areas since they would put their guided hunters and close friends on the big bulls they find. For what they were charging we figured we might as well just spend that money on gas to scout...
So my Dad decided to cash in his points this year and drew a unit 10 early archery elk tag. This will be a DIY hunt the whole season but with minimal scouting opportunity since we’re coming from Ohio. Planning on spending time on the Big Bo and nearby. If anyone has had this tag and is willing...
Thanks for the advice guys. I think after talking to a lot of experienced people I’ll stick with going for the late hunts and hope I catch up someday. Meanwhile I’ll try and hone my mule deer hunting skills In other states so when the time comes I’ll be ready! Thanks again guys
Thanks for the advice, obviously I would love the opportunity to hunt in an area where seeing a 190+ isn’t unreasonable but I can’t see my self passing up a 175-180 type buck on a hunt like that considering I’d probably not go with a guide. The only reason I’m even considering trying to draw an...
Needing advice on what to do with my points.
I was fortunate enough to have a father who applied in AZ for me when I was younger and I am now 25 years old sitting on 17 points as a NR for deer, elk and sheep.
After doing a lot of research I realize even with having a few points I’ll never be...
