Well after all the hype that unit 21 deer hunting has gone way down does everyone still feel the same after hunting it this year??Any pics of bucks harvested?
Very nice! Congratulations to the both of you. It’s not what it used to be for sure. There are still some nice bucks around. There are a bunch of 2-3 year old bucks every year. It’s been that way for several years now and you’d think that those 2-3 year old deer would eventually grow up. That doesn’t translate though. Most of the nice bucks taken don’t score well as the genetic make up of the herd kinda sucks. Even so, it’s a fun hunt. The day of road hunting 180” bucks is long over but the required points it takes to get the tag isn’t going down anytime soon.
I live in Rangely and work in 21. I have home field advantage. My wife took this 27” buck this year opening morning of 2nd season. This buck isn’t going to score worth a crap but this is definitely in the top tier of bucks taken in the unit anymore.

Care to share a photo?Friend of mine from Rangely shared a picture of a knarly buck that his son shot on unit 21. I think it was taken on Saturday. It has a drop tine and several cheaters. I’d say there are still a few good ones there.

Pretty sure that buck came out of unit 10.. I don’t have his permission to post the photo and I doubt there were two bucks like that.Friend of mine from Rangely shared a picture of a knarly buck that his son shot on unit 21.
